Becoming an Uber driver is a relatively easy process that should take no more than 7-10 days to complete. Once you have completed this process, you will want to download the Uber driver app and start driving. In this post, I’ve included the links for Uber drivers that you will need at any time during the application or driving stage. A few of these links are my personal Uber referral links that will give you an added bonus for signing up, so feel free to use and/or share.

How to apply for Uber
Applying as a driver for Uber is a quick process, but it does require a few steps before you can get started driving. You can go to this link to get started with the application. You will need to provide your information, including personal information and information about your vehicle. Then, you will need to authorize a background check. Once you get through the application process and are approved as a driver, you will need to download the Uber Driver app to get started.

To download the Uber Partner/Driver app on iOS and Android, there are a few specific steps that you will need to follow. It is slightly more complex on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini, etc.) than it is on Android, but both are only a couple of steps.
Uber Driver iOS Download Link & Instructions
- Use your iPhone or iPad to go to partners.uber.com/drive-now
- When you receive a pop up to open in the app store, confirm and open the app store
- Tap the button to “buy” or “download” from the app store. The app is free, even if it reads “buy.”
- Once downloaded, tap on the Uber Partner app to open it up.
- Login with your Uber Driver ID and password.
NOTE: Previously, the Uber Driver/Partner app did not use the iOS App Store, so there was a step that you had to go through to authorize an untrusted developer. This is no longer necessary as the app is now in the iOS App Store, so it is actually far easier than it used to be.
Uber Driver Android Download Instructions
- Use your Android phone or tablet to go to partners.uber.com/drive-now or go directly to the Android App Store using this link: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubercab.driver
- Tap or click “Install”
- Once downloaded, tap the application to open it.
- Login with your Uber Driver ID and password.

The fact that Uber has made the process of requesting a “Taxi” seamless is probably the major contributor to the unprecedented growth of Uber globally. Being able to get and give rides by simply tapping a couple of buttons on your phone is pretty impressive. For people (Uber Drivers and Uber Passengers) that wish to start using the Uber app on their personal phones but have no idea where or how to get the application, don’t worry—it isn’t all that complicated. All you need to know is that you can only use an Android ,IOS or Windows phone.
Phone Requirements for IOS
For those with iPhones, the Uber application is only available on the 4S or newer models of the phone. If the model you use is older than that, you may want to consider investing in a new phone so that you can use the application.
Your IOS must be updated to the most recent one in order for the application to run properly. Your iPhone absolutely cannot be jail-broken; otherwise the application will not work. If your phone meets the requirements, follow the following steps:
Installation Steps
Step 1 – Return Your Uber-branded Phone
For Uber drivers, If you have an Uber-issued iPhone, your first step will be to return it to Uber (If you have your own phone, go to step 2). See the return process below:
- Fill out a form to request a return label.
- Wait till you get the label.
- When you get the label, attach it to a box and mail the Uber issued phone back to Uber.
Step 2 – Search for the Uber App
Now, you need to click on the “app store” application on your phone and search for the Uber app using the search bar .If you still are not able to find it, use our download links below: We have included links to both the Uber Passenger, and Uber Driver App for IOS below (in the event you need to use either one).

Step 3 – Download and Test-run
This step is very easy, all you need to do is click the first search result and download the application. To confirm that the app is functioning properly, log into your driver account and test run the functions

If you are using an android phone, you need not worry as the steps are not very different. Your operating system might need to be updated to the latest version for the Uber app to function properly.
